4 things you can do to improve your personal brand right now
Most founders don’t lose on product. They lose on presence.
These four exercises give you clarity, consistency and conviction, fast.
Do them in order. They’re designed to take 15 minutes each.
Pass the 5-second test
If a stranger landed on your profile and scrolled for five seconds, could they tell what you're about?
That's how long you get. Before anyone takes a call, invests, or buys, they look you up. And they don't read, they scan. If the scan doesn't land, they leave with an opinion anyway.
- Open your profiles on LinkedIn, X, and Instagram.
- Check the surface: name, handle, headshot, one-line bio.
- Scan the last 10 posts, thumbnails, or hooks.

NOTES / QUICK FIXES
Decide what you want to be known for
Ten years from now, what do you want people to say you were right about?
Direction isn't about listing features. It's about knowing where it's all pointing.
- Finish this sentence: “In ten years I want to be known as the person who ______.”
- Work backwards. What would you have to have actually done for that to be true?
- From that, pull three to five topics (content lanes) you could talk about for a decade without running out.
MY CONTENT LANES (3–5)
Write down what your industry gets wrong
What can you see from where you sit that most people in your space are missing?
Consistent content doesn't come from creativity. It comes from conviction. If you don't have opinions, you have a newsletter nobody opens.
- Finish this sentence three times: “Most people in my space think ___, but actually ___.”
- For each one, add why you believe it. A number, a story, something you saw firsthand.
- Bonus: one thing you believed two years ago that you don't anymore.

ONE BELIEF I’VE CHANGED IN THE LAST TWO YEARS:
Write your founder story, then pull the lessons out
How did you actually get here, and what did it teach you?
Your story is the one thing no competitor can copy. The lessons buried in it are the content you'll never run out of.
- Map your story from start to now. Mark the wrong turns and defining moments.
- For each moment, write what it taught you.
- Pull five lessons you see repeating.
